What is 2 5/12 - (-2 1/6) ? Express the answer in simplest form.

OpenStudy (88):

What you want to do is add the two whole numbers together then you want to turn 1/6 into 2/12 so you have two of the same denominator. so once you turn 1/6 into 2/12 then just add the top number of 5/12 and 2/12 to get 7/12. so therefor you get 4 7/12
