The first thing you will want to do is distribute 3/4 to everything in your parentheses! Since everything in the parentheses can be divided by 4 (your denominator), you can just divide those by 4 and remove 4 from the fraction. Then you will multiply everything by 3, leaving you with 3c + 12 = 2c + 9 Next what you will do is subtract 12 from both sides which will give you 3c = 2c - 3 Your next step would be to subtract 2c from both sides leaving you with c = -3 (or what Spikers said). :)
