I am not going to give three elements because that is basically cheating if you were to copy and paste my answers. 
But one thing I will say that could give you a start, is that Jack London had a main thing in mind when writing about Buck and other animals like the wolves and dogs. 
He wanted to write from an animals perspective, and he wanted to show that animals feel pain like humans do. Animals have to submit to a master, like we have to submit to our parents or some other authority. Animals knew the difference between right and wrong and had to be taught. Animals had personality, and in essence they are intelligent as Buck was.
