It needs the observations, visible signs of a reaction, and type of reaction. You have to balance the equation for the reaction between zinc and hydrochloric acid

All it gives me is Zn + HCI -> ZnCl2 + H2

To balance that equation all you have to do is count the amount of each element on each side of the arrow, and whatever isn't the same, change it so there are an equal number of each element on each side.

For example, there is 1 Zn on the left side of the arrow (no number in front of the element means there is 1 of that element), and there is also 1 Zn on the right side of the arrow. This means that the element 'Zn' is balanced (because they both have the same number).

Using this, can you work out how many of each element is on each side?
Then put numbers in front of the elements that need to be changed to balance it? (So there is the same number of each element on each side)
