I'm pretty sure I know what 'a' is, but I'm lost on 'b', all you're supposed to do here is identify both of these variables, so... do you recall anything that had a '(ab)' sort of situation where there was a formula going over that?

Yeah, my guess is that it's either 'A' or 'B', but 'B' does sound more solid than 'A', so... go for it. However, I'm probably wrong.

Well it looks like you like you got the right answer, but I couldn't figure out why so I created an excel spreadsheet to solve the equation for a few x values.

As you can see, when z is 0 the initial amount is 14. I was thinking it would be 28, which would have been wrong. Also note the growth value is 2, since it doubles for every value of x.
