I don't like the choices. The US Army massacred Indians camped at Wounded Knee in 1890. It was one of the last major conflicts between US/Indians. There were others later, but not as big. That massacre convinced remaining free Indians to accept confinement to the res. I wouldn't say it improved the system though. Your teacher is probably looking for answer B
