Marxism is a way to look at history. Marx and Engels looked at history as a constant struggle between those who have wealth and those who don't. They thought capitalism would eventually be over thrown and replace by a system where everybody had equal wealth and worked for the betterment of everybody. Russian Communists and others, used the ideas of Marx to force people into a society of "equals." The problem here is that somebody ends up being more equal than everybody else. The government forces people to be equal. it didn't work. Capitalism looks more selfish. It is selfish but when you selfishly set up a business to make money, I benefit from the product you make.
