Look at the first problem. It involves two variables, time (independent) and height (dependent). The graph shows how height changes with time. Next, look at the first of the four given points: (5,60). 5 represents a time (t) value, whereas 60 represents a height (h) value. Look carefully at the graph. When t=5 sec, the graph tells us that the height (h) is what? If 60 feet, then (5,60) is a solution of this straight line function; if not, then (5,60) is not a solution. check out the other 3 possible solutions in the same manner.
