Help please. Will medal and fan!
Find the Gradient (Slope) for each equation.
?
pleease
You have the right instructions. Find the slope of each one. Do you recall the Point-Slope Form> y = mx+b
Yes i do
Okay, can you put them all in Point-Slope Form. Some are done for you, already. You do the others.
im not sure how
Solve for y? You have to have some algebra skills to solve this problem. Is this a placement exam?
it is perpendicular and neither you slut @tkhunny
Too bad. It would have ben nice to see you utilize your best algebra.
Did he get suspended? @tkhunny
Why dont you clean that word, likewhen he types it it changes to another one?
I am not at liberty to discuss administrative actions of other users. It is a good example of a bad attitude. :-)
I don't control the filters. Besides, as soon as abusers know what the filters do, the filters make little difference.
Was he warned tho?
Some misbehavior is worthy of suspension without warning. For example, making additional accounts to evade suspension.
Well what if he didnt make that account after the suspension but always had it? Why did it say that he was warned an didnt stop the inappropiate behaviour and wasnt even warned?? He said that word once and wasnt warnned at all! Oh by the way this is his brother
Technically, since he created an account, he read the Code of Conduct and Terms of Service Agreements and approved them prior to the creation of the User ID. This material contains more than ample warnings. I'm glad you care about your brother. Teach hum to show his work, answer direct questions, and learn some new words.
Technically, it said he was warned MULTIPLE TIMES
It says that hes been
Okay, here are the first three warnings in the Code of Conduct. Be Nice–I will stay positive, be friendly, and not mean He violated that. Give Help, Not Answers–I will encourage and guide those needing help, and not just give them an answer He wanted me to violate that. Thank Others for Their Help–I will thank people for taking the time and effort to help me He violated that.
WELL IT SAID THAT HES BEEN PREVIOUSLY ASKED TO SOP USING INAPPROPIATE LANGUAGE! Was he? NO
STOP*
EXACTLY
Now, we're back around to the beginning. He was mean, angry, ungrateful, and attempting to cheat. Why, in the name of reason, are you trying to defend this position? Please familiarize yourself and your brother with the Code of Conduct and there will be no need for such a discussion.
He wasnt he never asked for direct answers, did he? NO. Therefore he wasnt cheating
Nope. Refusing to answer direct questions or show any work at all constitutes cheating. It's a definition, not an opinion.
What do you mean????! He didnt know how to do that problem! He cant show his work if he dosnt know how!
Thats why I helped him out on the problem step by step
?
That is incorrect. He MUST know SOMETHING or this assignment would not have been given. He said he knew the Point-Slope Form. That was a good start. He claimed to have absolutely no idea how to subtract a quantity from both sides of an equation. Well, this lesson comes well before the point-slope form in the lesson sequence. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume he has some ability in this area. "I'm not sure how." will almost always be an inadequate response. I am glad you helped him. You get to sit there and interact. You talked. You wrote things down. You discussed the solution. I didn't have that advantage. I asked reasonable questions he did not want to answer and then he became abusive and hostile. What might you have done had he taken that approach with you, there at your kitchen table? There are many here who are perfectly capable and available to help in any way a student needs - IF the student will TALK, RESPOND, Use Sentences, Show Work, and generally communicate in a reasonable fashion. This is all we do, here. Frankly, I would prefer you helped your brother, rather than ANY website. He will learn more and you both will be better for the interaction.
youi asked if he recalled the point slope form, and he said yes because he is aware of it because he heard of it before!
Hes only in 8th grade!
Okay. That's good. He also knows how to solve for a variable in a linear equation. It takes addition and multiplication. Yes, there are many in the 8th grade with these same skills. There are also many students of many ages who throw their hands in the air and say, "I have no idea!" when this is clearly not the case. Tell you what, I think this little talk may have created sufficient emphasis on the necessary principles of the Code of Conduct. I'll revoke the suspension immediately with the reminder that he needs to communicate or no one can help him. If all we get is silence and then hostility, no one can help - not even you, sitting there in the kitchen.
Alright but im not in the kitchen lol
If that is your worst objection, I am satisfied with our conversation. Thank you VERY MUCH for your calm and willingness to talk.
Sorry
No worries. Try to remember how you worked with your brother. If he's not around, just talk to us the same way. Ask questions. Answer questions. You HAVE to show your work or we can't tell where you are. :-)
Okay, thanks
