(2x-1)^2 = 49 Solve quadratic function with square roots

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

first subtract 49 from both sides: (2x-1)^2-49=0 now use difference of squares: a^2-b^2=(a-b)*(a+b) a=2x-1 b=7 (2x-1-7)*(2x-1+7)=0 to find roots you need to equal ( ) to 0: 2x-7-7=0 2x-1+7=0 solve each eqaution

So I'll have two answers?

OpenStudy (pawanyadav):

Take square root both side So 2x-1=+7 also 2x-1=-7 As roots of 49 are both +7 and-7 So u will get 2 answer
