OpenStudy (micahm):

1. Determine whether the regular hexagon has reflection symmetry, rotation symmetry, both, or neither. If it has reflection symmetry, state the number of axes of symmetry. If it has rotation symmetry, state the angle of rotation. For each type of symmetry, explain how you can tell the figure does or does not have the given symmetry.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Do you know the basic difference between these symmetries?

OpenStudy (micahm):

the picture looks like a hexagon

OpenStudy (micahm):

and my answer is : 6 sides = 6 axes of symmetry is that right

OpenStudy (micahm):

@AravindG

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Right you are!

OpenStudy (micahm):

thank you but did i answer the rest of the question or do i still have to work on this

OpenStudy (aravindg):

It also has rotational symmetry. For each 60 degree turn we get the same shape.

OpenStudy (micahm):

this is what i wrote 6 sides = 6 axes of symmetry there is one side that looks like is the same as the other side which I believe is the middle axes

OpenStudy (aravindg):

It has both reflection symmetry and rotational symmetry. For reflection symmetry also note that lines joining midpoints are also line of symmetry.

OpenStudy (micahm):

so i answered all of it

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Well done.

OpenStudy (micahm):

thank you so much
