i think he means like, hmm I'm stuck

OpenStudy (igreen):

Before dividing mixed fractions you have to convert them to improper fractions, then use the rule: \(\sf \dfrac{a}{b} \div \dfrac{c}{d} \rightarrow \dfrac{a}{b} \times \dfrac{d}{c}\)

OpenStudy (88):

ok

OpenStudy (igreen):

To convert a mixed fraction to an improper fraction, multiply the denominator to the whole number and add it to the numerator, that gives you the numerator for the improper fraction. The denominator is the same as the mixed fraction.

OpenStudy (igreen):

Err mixed number, not mixed fraction lol

OpenStudy (igreen):

\(\sf a \dfrac{b}{c} \rightarrow \dfrac{ac + b}{c}\)

OpenStudy (igreen):

\(\sf 9 \dfrac{5}{8} \rightarrow \dfrac{(9)(8)+5}{8}\) Can you simplify that?
