Give and example of a radical function f(x) that goes through the point (2,4) and whose domain and range are both (-infinity, infinity). I just need the function, no graph needed.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

First, what does "radical function" mean to you? Give an example.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=- srqrt (3x-2)?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Yes. You'll find that this function is not even, however, so the domain does not stretch from minus infinity to pos. inf. Can you think of a different, even, function, to type under the radical sign?
