what is the formula for the volume of a cylinder

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

You have no reference for that? Normally, you would if you've been given a question about it. A "right circular cylinder"? \(\pi r^{2}h\) \(r\) is the radius of the base \(h\) is the height of the cylinder

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Just want to point out something interesting you may or may not have noticed. The volume of a shape is the area x the height, so see the area of a circle is \[\pi r ^2\] and then multiplying by the height gives you another dimension. \[V= Ah = \pi r^2 h\]

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Notice also that the height is the distance between the two bases. It isn't any measure of the circular pieces.
