You have no reference for that?  Normally, you would if you've been given a question about it.

A "right circular cylinder"?  $\pi r^{2}h$

$r$ is the radius of the base
$h$ is the height of the cylinder

Just want to point out something interesting you may or may not have noticed.
The volume of a shape is the area x the height, so see the area of a circle is $$\pi r ^2$$ and then multiplying by the height gives you another dimension. $$V= Ah = \pi r^2 h$$

Notice also that the height is the distance between the two bases.  It isn't any measure of the circular pieces.
