The vertex will be at (0,0); the focus will be 6 units below it, also on the y-axis. this is just a paraphrasing of the original question. The distance between vertex and focus is what? You might want to draw the parabola. How is the distance between focus and vertex related to the equation of a parabola? Actually, I was suggesting that YOU go to these search results and look for an explanation of how the distance between vertex and focus impacts upon the equation for a particular parabola.  You'll need to know this info later.
