I believe that it was the right decision. That was the ultimate clincher in the war in the Pacific. Sure it killed 100,000+ people, but look where they are now! We helped them rebuild and we have been at peace with them ever since.

Japan was going to surrender, but only with certain conditions. We wanted them to surrender UNCONDITIONALLY. They didn't comply with that so we made them surrender, with no conditions.
