Elements of Art
Color: Most of the objects are light, including the woman. The woman's maid and the clock, however, are done mostly in bolder colors. This brings attention to both how the maid is paying attention to the clock and how the woman is not.

Space: The space the print shows is rather simple, yet shows wealth. This is because it is a private courtyard and has the clock. It also is very organized.

Elements of Design
Pattern: Little pattern is shown in this print. The pattern of the the maid's kimono also shows wealth. The pattern on the garment is rather lavish, showing that her employer has enough money to pay her well.

Unity: the whole print is unified by the parallel and perpendicular lines that cover many of the things in it. This brings everything together in a way that is rather pleasing to the eye.
