Rewrite with only sinx and cosx. cos2x+sinx

random231 (random231):

use cos2x=cos^2x-sin^2x

1) Don't post problems with no work shown - work that YOU produced. 2) It appears random231 wants you to think about the double angle formulas.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Once I have cos^2x - sin^2x + sin x How can I simplify it further?

random231 (random231):

well you can write cos^2x as 1-sin^2x. now all your terms are in sin form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then I have 1-sin^2x-sin^2x+sinx which can be simplified as 1-2sin^2x+sin x

thanks!
