@gabbyalicorn and @faithpeterson2021 : Giving away answers is NOT helping, and so I ask you not to do that. Give the other person some guidance in finding his or her own answer.

OpenStudy (goldengoodgirl):

My apologies @mathmale

OpenStudy (goldengoodgirl):

all u have to do is add i ask my brother

OpenStudy (mathmale):

You could, instead, set up the problem so that it is easier for goldengoodgirl to do. For example:|dw:1449521952850:dw|

OpenStudy (goldengoodgirl):

omg ik

OpenStudy (glitterychan):

-4.75 plus 2.19 is going to be a negative number. We know this because the "greater" number is negative, even though it's actually less than zero. When we add these, it will make the -4.75 a "bigger" number, if you could say that. You could use a number line to see how this works. It would en up being 2.56.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (goldengoodgirl):

ok im done bye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c ya bye take care :)

OpenStudy (goldengoodgirl):

bye

OpenStudy (mathmale):

That was quite a good explanation, except that you, too, provided the answer, and the answer had the wrong sign. thanks for the demo, though; it was helpful. Bye.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):
