Write the equation: 7 less than the product of a number z and 3 is equal to 4. How would i write this into a equation? help??

product of number z and 3 is z*3=4
Woops, in this case, `less than` is referring to the `subtraction` operation. `more than` means to `add` an amount, `less than` means to `take away` that amount.
So you start with your quantity 3z and take 7 away from it, 3z-7 and equate that to 4, 3z-7 = 4
