OpenStudy (airyana1114):

Can someone help me solve this equation?

OpenStudy (airyana1114):

\[(x+(3+5i))^{2}\]

alones (alones):

u mean the steps??

OpenStudy (airyana1114):

Well I know that I need to first distribute the x to the 3 and 5i but what would my 5i become when I distribute x to it..

alones (alones):

yep so2=((3+5i)+x) so actually it would be made this way 2(x+(3+5i))

OpenStudy (airyana1114):

Isn't that just my original equation?

OpenStudy (airyana1114):

@ikram002p

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

you can "remove" the innermost parentheses to get: (x + 3 + 5i)^2 = (x + 3 + 5i)(x + 3 + 5i) then use FOIl to expand the expression

OpenStudy (airyana1114):

Okay, thank you

OpenStudy (airyana1114):

I still don't understand but thanks guys!
