OpenStudy (dezandalf42714):

I dont understand what to do with this one an help? y equals negative five−sixths Select one: A. x equals three−fourths B. x equals two and one−fourth C. x equals negative two−thirds D. x equals negative one and one−half

zepdrix (zepdrix):

\[\large\rm y=-\frac{5}{6}\]Hmm that's not enough information.

OpenStudy (dezandalf42714):

yeah I know thats how the questions are and then for the options it says x = something

zepdrix (zepdrix):

You should've been given an equation which relates x to y, \(\large\rm y=x+2\) or something of that sort. And then they give you a specific value for y, which you need to plug into the relationship, to solve for x. So we're missing something.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe c because i think the questions might be asking what fraction is similar to the one given. Does that make sense ?

OpenStudy (dezandalf42714):

hmm my test only gives me that much info I have had a few like these but they give me more info

OpenStudy (dezandalf42714):

yes that makes sence

OpenStudy (dezandalf42714):

*sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is the only thing that i can think of

OpenStudy (dezandalf42714):

ok I will try that thanks for the help everyone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just one more thing it also may be a so . . . .

OpenStudy (dezandalf42714):

Ok

OpenStudy (dezandalf42714):

I will check thnx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (dezandalf42714):

OpenStudy (dezandalf42714):

@AlexisT20

OpenStudy (md152727):

@AlexisT20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (dezandalf42714):

So why do u think it is A?>

OpenStudy (dezandalf42714):

@AlexisT20??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on it might take me a while to type why

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok if you were to give 2/3 and 3/4 a common denominator with 5/6, 3/4 would be closer then 2/3 with 5/6
