Why are most cells so small? A- Large cells cannot reproduce B-Trillions must be able to fit inside a human body C-Only small cells are able to use ATP D-They need to have a large ratio of surface volume

OpenStudy (alfordabby):

cells must be small to have a large surface to volume ratio. The important point is that the surface area to the volume ratio gets smaller as the cell gets larger. Thus, if the cell grows beyond a certain limit, not enough material will be able to cross the membrane fast enough to accommodate the increased cellular volume.

So it's D?

OpenStudy (alfordabby):

yes :)
