Select the equations of the lines that are parallel to the line whose equation is y = 3x + 5. and so I got ..i mean picked 2 of them 6x + 2y = 12this one -3x + y = 8 3y = 9xthis one y = -x i'm not sure tho if i'm right :/

OpenStudy (serenity74):

Please post the question, so I can see whether your answer is correct or not.

alones (alones):

umm it's on top

OpenStudy (abdullahm):

So, if two lines are parallel, that means they have the same slope, but different y-intercepts. Do you agree?

OpenStudy (abdullahm):

@AloneS

alones (alones):

umm..yes i do agree on that :)

OpenStudy (abdullahm):

So, your given line is y = 3x + 5 You chose these answers: 6x + 2y = 12 -3x + y = 8 3y = 9x y = -x Right?

OpenStudy (abdullahm):

All of those except y = -x, have a slope of 3.
