the Articles put all All power with individual states. the federal governemnt was basically nonexistant. are connstitution now made the fedral governement decisiosn trump states decisions. putting a decision maker infront of all the states. the articles did not work because you had many states making different decisions on different things and they could never agree on anything not even taxes where the fed loves to agree on now.

The Articles of Confederation was basically a draft of the Constitution, it lacked a majority of what the constitution had. Weaknesses of the AOC include that most power was held by states, there was one branch of government, the one branch, being the legislative, had limited power, it had no judicial or executive system/branch, and because there was only one branch, there obviously wasn't any systems of checks and balances. The constitution had strengths such as: three branches of government, most powers held by national government, legislative branch had many more powers, the executive branch had a president, the judicial branch proposed and reviewed laws, and it had a firm system of checks and balances. Background---- the constitution was primarily created because a farmer named Daniel Shays lost his land to tax, like many other farmers in Michigan at about 1805, because of this, they rebelled and created Shays' Rebellion, which eventually led to a Constitutional Convention, where delegates from each state attended and created the constitution.
