A tan comes from the the sun's rays. The animals that change color do it to blend in with the environment and the animals that grow thicker fur do it to adapt to the cold.

A tan comes from our bodies response to increased UV light.  Did you mutate to do that? If you work out do you cause muscle increase by mutation or by growth stimulated by hormones?
