OpenStudy (dr.gray):

Which policy might help eliminate a disadvantage of renewable energy resources? A. modernizing coal power plants B. storing nuclear waste in carefully controlled facilities C. subsidizing solar energy production to reduce the price D. investing in technology that will reduce polluting emissions

OpenStudy (bobodafatmonkey):

Okay well it isn't A or D

OpenStudy (dr.gray):

so it's either b or c

OpenStudy (dr.gray):

Advantages of nuclear power generation: Nuclear power generation does emit relatively low amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2). The emissions of green house gases and therefore the contribution of nuclear power plants to global warming is therefore relatively little.

OpenStudy (dr.gray):

this is what came up when i looked up the question

OpenStudy (bobodafatmonkey):

Nuclear energy is renewable right?

OpenStudy (dr.gray):

Nuclear power plants use nuclear fission to create electricity. The fuel that nuclear power plants use for nuclear fission is uranium. Unlike solar power and wind energy, uranium is a non-renewable resource.

OpenStudy (bobodafatmonkey):

That's true but technology can be developed to power nuclear plants so im not really sure. I think id go with B because A and D are nonrenewable and in C price isn't really a disadvantage.

OpenStudy (dr.gray):

Which of these is a benefit of nuclear energy? A. Nuclear materials can be dangerous. B. Nuclear waste must be carefully managed. C. Nuclear energy is easy to use and transport. D. Nuclear power provides huge amounts of electricity.
