I only have one chance to get this question right and I don't understand it ... will fan and give medal for best answer Without multiplying, determine the sign of the product (−247,634)(183,758). The sign of the product is positive because a negative multiplied by a positive is a positive. The sign of the product is negative because a negative multiplied by a positive is a negative. The sign of the product is negative because the first number is negative. The sign of the product is positive because the second number is positive.

are you sure? i need to make sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Its true. When you multiply a negative with a positive you will get a negative. Like if we take a part a positive and a negative the "sticks" would make an N meaning a negative. So..... -247 multiplied by 183 would be a negative number. I attached a picture to help with this question if you do not get my explanation. @ransondyara471 we are suppose to help the user not give away the answer. OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u help with one more?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Sure xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea was up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Multiply (−7)(2)(−2). −28 −14 28 14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take negatives and multiply both then by 2

563blackghost (563blackghost):

To multiply this question we start from left to right like reading so we first multiply -7 by 2 so with the picture i sent what would the outcome be....a positive or a negative?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer will be npositive

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would be 14 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer is negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh its a neg and a positive so those 2 together become a negative

563blackghost (563blackghost):

If we take apart the negative and the positive like before we would get an N so it would be a negative....the number you got is right byut the sign is a negative....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get it now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks guys!
