jabez177 (jabez177):

OpenStudy (annah.bee):

OpenStudy (annah.bee):

i have to write a 4 paragraph essay on one of these things This semester, you read several memoirs, including pieces by Ernesto Galarza and Russell Baker. Return to “Barrio Boy” and “No Gumption” now. How are these two memoirs similar? How are they different? How do the authors use language to convey their main messages to readers? 2. In Antigone, written by the ancient Greek dramatist Sophocles, the two main characters are Antigone and Creon, the king of Thebes. Though these two characters are in conflict, they are not entirely different. Compare and contrast the characters of Antigone and Creon and explore how their actions help clarify the themes of this tragedy. 3. Two of Edgar Allan Poe’s most famous poems, “The Raven” and “Annabel Lee,” are included in this unit. How are these two poems similar in terms of theme and character? How are they different?

OpenStudy (annah.bee):

oh lucky you... yeah i have to write a super long essay and turn it into my learning coach

OpenStudy (annah.bee):

normally in literature i just look at the answer key but the answer key isn't helpful on this one

OpenStudy (annah.bee):

Answer key:::: Accept any answer in which your student explores the way in which both men recount experiences they had as young boys. Both include a good deal of detail and paint a picture of a situation they faced when they were younger. However, Baker uses a good deal of dialogue in his story and injects his piece with much humor. Galarza, on the other hand, focuses instead on the physical details of the world he grew up in. There is not a great deal of dialogue, and humor is absent from his piece. Galarza’s reflective tone imbues his piece with the gratitude he feels. Baker, on the other hand, is less reflective or prone to pondering. These contrasting styles are appropriate when one considers that Galarza is describing a time that could have been quite traumatic for him, while Baker is recounting a moment of personal discovery.

jabez177 (jabez177):
