Which sentence uses an objective case pronoun as a direct object? 1) I e-mailed him yesterday. 2) I sent him an attachment that included photos of the picnic. 3) He wrote back to Bob and me with an answer to our questions. HELP!!!

OpenStudy (wendy.ivette11714):

It should be 1.

OpenStudy (wendy.ivette11714):

?

OpenStudy (ram231):

Mr.Z do you have any answers? Im so confused on this question.......

OpenStudy (wendy.ivette11714):

Okay then you don't need my help ^_^

OpenStudy (mr.z):

A direct object is a noun or pronoun that receives the action of a verb in a sentence. It answers the questions "what? or whom?" Indirect Object 1. Him: direct object. He is the direct recipient of the action, and again, take out "Annie and" in order to determine which to use, "he" or "him." 2. Us: indirect object. This is the opposite of question 1, in this case, see if you can rearrange the sentence to take away the supposed preposition (and again, take out "and Stan"): "Dad made us these pickle-and-peanut-butter sandwiches." 3. You can't have just "between me," because "between" requires two objects, you can still see "me" is clearly the object of a preposition and therefore in the right case. "Jack was sitting between Paul and me" is correct. 4. "They include they and I" is not true, because "they" and "I" are nominative (subject) case.

OpenStudy (ram231):
