what properties of characteristics of similar triangles could be used to prove the Pythagorean Theorem?

This question is kind of hard to explain. The Pythagorean Theorem would help you find the missing length of a right triangle, and the properties of similar triangles would help you find the length of a side if given another triangle with the side values given.
