Given A(-1,4) B(1,5) and C(-5,3) which coordinate will make AB parallel to CD? (-2,3) (0,9) (-3,4) (5,4)

OpenStudy (lstrasmann):

Parallel lines have the same slope. So you can find the slope of AB, then use that to get the D coordinate. The slope is given by y2-y1/x2-x1. (5-4)/(1--1)=1/2. I would then graph a line through (-5,3) with slope 1/2. Then see which of those points is hit by the line.
