Jenny drove to the mountains last weekend. There was heavy traffic on the way there, and the trip took 10 hours. When Jenny drove home, there was no traffic and the trip only took 7 hours. If her average rate was 18 miles per hour faster on the trip home, how far away does Jenny live from the mountains?

@Cardinal_Carlo

We only need the speed going back home. So: \[f(7) = 18(7) = 126\] Jenny lives 126 miles from the mountains.

I read over the *faster than* clause. My bad

Two cars leave towns 570 kilometers apart at the same time and travel toward each other. One car's rate is 12 kilometers per hour more than the other's. If they meet in 3 hours, what is the rate of the faster car?
