OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

I cant figure this one out....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

the value of \(r=0.999\) tells us that we can fit such experimental data with a straight line, so, we can write the formula of such line, by means of this formula: \[y - \bar y = m\left( {x - \bar x} \right)\]

OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

ok, I see; so now we have to figure out the values right?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

yes! I think that the slope \(m\), is: \[\huge m = \frac{{{s_y}}}{{{s_x}}}\] even if I'm not sure. Please what is the meaning of \(s_x\) and \(s_y\)?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

After a substitution, I get: \[\Large y - 5.64 = m\left( {x - 1979.5} \right)\]

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

I think that \(m\) can be this: \[\Large m = \frac{{{s_y}}}{{{s_x}}} = \frac{{0.718}}{{1.29}}\] nevertheless, I'm not sure

OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

I really dont know

OpenStudy (michele_laino):
