The angles below are supplementary. What is the value of x? A pair of supplementary angles is shown. One angle measures 7x + 33, and the other angle measures 70. 5.3 8.14 11 14.7

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

When angles are supplementary, what do the two angles equal to be in degrees?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They can be up to 180 degrees

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

hint: since the angles are supplementary, then we can write this: \[\huge 7x + 33 + 70 = 180\]

OpenStudy (yuliacosta111):

how do we find which one it is

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

after a simplification, I get: \[\Large \begin{gathered} 7x + 103 = 180 \hfill \\ 7x = 180 - 103 \hfill \\ 7x = 77 \hfill \\ \end{gathered} \] please divide both sides by \(7\), what do you get?

OpenStudy (yuliacosta111):

11

OpenStudy (yuliacosta111):

x=11

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

that's right!

OpenStudy (yuliacosta111):

i get it thxs

OpenStudy (michele_laino):
