Two beauticians, Lydia and Jackie, are working on your hair. Lydia can complete the work in 2 hours, while Jackie can complete the work in 1 hour. How many hours do the beauticians take if they work together? one half three halvess two thirds four thirds

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

two thirds right ? @welshfella @KendrickLamar2014

OpenStudy (ryuga):

three halves

OpenStudy (mathmale):

This would mean so much more if you'd please show your work. I'd like to give you meaningful feedback on what you've already done.

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

1/2 + 1/1 = 1/h and i solved for h

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Is "3/2" a reasonable answer, given that one beautician can do the whole job in 1 hour and the other in 2 hours?

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

no cx

OpenStudy (mathmale):

cx = ?

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

all my questions have that same format so i did it like that even though i would thnk 1/2 ;p

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Why would you "think 1/2"? I'm not trying to be funny or mean, but rather need to understand your thinking.

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):
