jim_thompson5910 Please help!
pooja195 (pooja195):
Hey
Welcome To Openstudy :)
So the given angles are vertical angles :)
Can you tell me what you know about vertical angles?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Well they are pairs of opposite angles made by intersecting lines

Thank you for the welcome!
pooja195 (pooja195):
np ^_^
Ok
Did you know that vertical angles are equal to each other ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
No i did not

Ok so to find the value of x what would the equation be?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
9x+32 = 104
OpenStudy (anonymous):
?
pooja195 (pooja195):
Good now solve for x B)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I belive x=8

Is that right?
pooja195 (pooja195):
Ok that looks find so
x=8
Any clues on how to find z?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
is it 9x +32 + z= 180?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I pretty familiar with the equations, just not sure how to find z from here
pooja195 (pooja195):
m actually unsure of how to find z :/
I would think since we know the value of x wouldnt u plug that in?

I have no idea :(
OpenStudy (anonymous):
is there anyone else that you know, that could help me?
OpenStudy (wolf1728):
Sure I can help
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ok so I am not sure how to find z
OpenStudy (anonymous):
thank you so much!

OpenStudy (wolf1728):
9x + 32 = 104
So basically, those 2 angles add up to 208.
360 = 208 + z + other angle
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ok so how do I find Z?
OpenStudy (wolf1728):
Changing that equation we get
152 = Z + other angle
and we KNOW z = other angle
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I'm following you. 360-208 = 152
OpenStudy (wolf1728):
104 + 9z+32 total 208
All 4 angles = 360 degrees
So the remaining 2 angles are z and its vertical angle

OpenStudy (wolf1728):
so z + vertical angle = 152
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so z = 152
OpenStudy (anonymous):
or half of 152 is z
OpenStudy (wolf1728):
That's right it is half of 152
OpenStudy (anonymous):
z=76

My value of x is right too? 8?
OpenStudy (wolf1728):
Yes it's 8
