to write a thesis statement, you need to make a claim about some thing. for instance, "chocolate is the best candy ever because its delicious" you would then go on to explain why.

so what she did is give you like a "stencil" or "fill in the blank" statement. she basically did all the work for you. u just hav to find which structure element goes, where, why it matters, etc. does that make sense?
