Who was Robert Hooke?

OpenStudy (fudgyfingers):

He created the Hooke's law, which states the force needed to extend or compress a spring by some distance is proportional to that distance.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx

OpenStudy (fudgyfingers):

The formula associated with it is F=kx, where F is force, k is the spring constant and x is the distance the spring is extended

OpenStudy (fudgyfingers):

no problem!
