Sunny earns $22.75 per week delivering newspapers. He worked as a delivery boy for 3 weeks. He also earned $32.75 last month doing chores around the house. He spent $14.25 of his total earnings to download music on his mobile device. Sunny put 1 over 5 of the remaining money in his savings account. Sunny used the following steps to find the total money he put in his savings account: Step 1: [($22.75 + 3) + $32.75 − $14.25] ⋅ 1 over 5 Step 2: [$44.25] ⋅ 1 over 5 Step 3: $11.0625 In which step did Sunny first make an error? Use words to explain how Sunny can correct his error. @triciaal @hero

will fan and medal whoever knows the answers!!!

OpenStudy (retireed):

They told us there is an error in Sunny's calculation, so find the correct answer by solving the question and explain where Sunny messed up.

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

ok

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

i will try

OpenStudy (retireed):

Great! I could tell you the correct answer without an equation, but you will still need to find the mistake in the equation in order to explain the error.

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

could you tell me the correct answer i'm having trouble

OpenStudy (retireed):

How do you know your are having trouble, of you don't know what the answer is suppose to be? Will you show me your equation and we can analyze your answer?

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

ok

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

($22.75 x 3) + $32.75 - $14.25

OpenStudy (retireed):

That is correct for Step 1) What about steps 2 and 3?

OpenStudy (retireed):

Write step 2 in equation form. Just like Sunny did.

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

$68.25 + 32.75 - $14.25

OpenStudy (retireed):

Sorry, my mistake. Your step 1 is incorrect. You forgot something in Step 1. My mistake was just looking at my calculator and not reviewing what Sunny's step 1 actually look like. Sorry I have to go work on de-grouting the upstairs shower, so I can have it fixed by the time my girls get home for Christmas. I usually tire after an hour, so I will check-in on your answers to both Step 1 and Step, when I take a break. Bye for now.

OpenStudy (retireed):

I meant to say home from college for Christmas break. I'm just making all kinds of errors today.
