Help! Will Medal and Fan! What is the equation of the quadratic graph with a focus of (4, –3) and a directrix of y = –6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are 10 of these and this is the last of them, but its no working!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-x^2+8x+6y+11=0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you have options?

OpenStudy (skrill3xmast3r):

Maybe this might help: http://www.had2know.com/academics/parabola-equation-focus-directrix.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It doesn't work...but I think this might be correct. \[y=\frac{ x^2 }{ 6 }-\frac{ 4x }{ 3 }-\frac{ 11 }{ 6 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As you can see it follows y=x^2+ax+c, they are just in fractions, and it is - not +

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think that is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, that is right, I just reversed it! Thank You

Good, because I have to go anyway. Have a good day and good luck with the rest of your work.
