Scientists know that organisms that are more closely related will have DNA sequences more similar to each other than organisms that are distantly related. Which two organisms below would most likely have the fewest similar nucleotide sequences in a given gene?
what are the two organisms?
alligator and earthworm scorpion and tarantula orangutan and howler monkey lion and horse
Scorpions and tarantulas are both invertebrates. Lions and horses are both mammals. Orangutans and howler monkeys are both primates. An alligator is a vertebrate and an earthworm is an invertebrate. Therefore, the answer would be B (Scorpion and Tarantula).
@Nebi While that is helpful, it doesn't really explain your reasoning. Good job, though :D - Pixels
@Seeing.In.Pixels your right. I guess I didn't explain my reasoning. A scorpion and a tarantula do seem to be more closely related than the other options. I don't think the question gave us enough information, so that is the most reasoning you could do. At least thats what i think haha.
