OpenStudy (benlindquist):

All of the following equations have the same solution except

OpenStudy (benlindquist):

7.5x = 1.5 x/5 = 0.04 x + 6.5 = 6.3 -1.8 + x = -1.6

OpenStudy (benlindquist):

first off, who do you solve ones like 2

OpenStudy (benlindquist):

what is that for

OpenStudy (xmissalycatx):

Simple, just solve for x in each of the equations! So for the second one as requested, you would have \[\frac{ x }{ 4 }=0.04\] so just MULTIPLY your denominator by both sides. When you multiply the denominator of a fraction it cancels out. Then you'd have x = 4 (.04) (just multiply that) :P

OpenStudy (benlindquist):

i somehow got the 2nd as an answer

OpenStudy (xmissalycatx):

Let me help you solve these; you already know how to solve the second one.. So for the first one, DIVIDE both sides by 7.5... It would then look something like \[x=\frac{ 1.5 }{ 7.5 }\] so just simplify that if you can.. For the third one just SUBTRACT 6.5 from both sides.. For the last one, ADD 1.8 to both sides. :P
