The Hittites were farther North. Asia minor and environs.

True, but It's easier to be Christian and answer these because you know the basis of what you believe.

Arc of the Covenant was a box with angel statues on top that held the 10 commandment tablets. It was kept in the tabernacle (mobile) until they built a temple

OpenStudy (kylexchaos):

Aarons rod I believe

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

What a great opportunity you have to learn this history. Many Christian people don't take the time to understand their history.

OpenStudy (kylexchaos):

Hebrew Bible, Aaron's rod and a pot of manna.

OpenStudy (kylexchaos):

Wwhitlock, are you christian? No? Then you can't make one sided statements about people you have never met.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@wwhitlock ya i dont even have the opportunity to go to church because my parents work and my father is to anti social so he never wants to leave the house much, so me and my mom listen to christian radio, i read bible stories every once and a while, and my dad and me have little bible talks every once in a while

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. how did the israelites settle canaan? 2. what is the central theme of the ten commandments?

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

The land was split up among the 12 tribes. Except Levi. The Levites were in charge of religious ceremonies like burnt offerings and such. So Levites were need in all the tribal lands. The 10 commandments are the same as the New Testament idea of Love God and Love your neighbor as yourself. The 10 commandments are just more detailed.

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

@KylexChaos I did not mean to offend anyone. It seems, though, that I offended you. Please accept my apology. One of the reasons we study History is to understand people. I'm not judging religious beliefs, just looking to get the facts straight
