I Have tried and i just haven't been able to get an answer

x^2 - 5xy -14y^2
will factor to something like
(x + ay)(x + by)

where a and b are numbers to be found

a * b will equal -14
and a + b will equal -5

we have to decide which one it from the fact that a + b = -5
