In an investigation, Detective Tracy discovered a photograph that showed his number one suspect at the scene of the crime. To get a better look, he enlarged the picture by a scale factor of 10/1. If the original photo measures d 4 inches by 6 inches, what were the dimensions of the enlargement?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

What does "enlarged by a scale factor of 10 to 1" mean to you? If I were to give y ou a square whose side length is 2, what would be the dimensions of the square if you were to double its side length?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's side length would be 4? Because you would do length times width? I don't understand a scale factor of 10 to 1.
