OpenStudy (shalayla4):

Triangle PTG has side lengths of 18cm, 14cm, and 16cm. What type of triangle is this? A. obtuse B. isosceles C. acute D. right @bibby

OpenStudy (bibby):

not isosceles cause we need 2 sides to be equal for that now we check to see how the sum of the squares of the legs compares to the hypotenuse squared if \(a^2+b^2=c^2 \) we have a right triangle if \(a^2+b^2>c^2 \) we have an acute triangle if \(a^2+b^2<c^2 \) we have an obtuse triangle

OpenStudy (shalayla4):

#confused

OpenStudy (shalayla4):

Is it right triangle???

OpenStudy (bibby):

the hypotenuse, c, is the longest side what is the measurement of the hypotenuse and what is the measurement of the 2 legs?

OpenStudy (shalayla4):

Hypotenuse is 18, legs are 14 and 16
