When you think about it, you are trying to find the amount of gas in your car. Let's represent the amount of gas left in your car by y. So, we have to write an equation to find y. If it were me, I would change the half hour into hour form. We can represent the hours by h. You know your car initially started off with 15 gal. of gas. So, we can represent this with the equation y=15-2h In this equation, y is the amount of time you've been driving. 15 is how many gal. your car can hold. And 2h means that your car burns off 2 gal. per hour. Hope this helped!
