You may go to the Mathematics section and where it shows the "Qualified Helpers," hover over their Q and it will show in blue, "Learn More." You may click that and it will show you the guidelines and everything you need to know. :)

They almost never check the applications.

Plus, you need a SmartScore of 80 or above to become a QH. Just help on OpenStudy for 2 months and you will surpass that limit. But there are other limits to consider. Are you specifically talented in a subject?

The 80 SS rule is a rule for becoming a QH in general. However, the rule may be debated as being insignificant to the overall quality of answers and help in particular since there are some outstanding users who provide and assist help to askers without having been on the site long enough to get a high SS.
