Should I take Algebra 1 Honors and Geometry Honors together? My current grade in Pre-algebra: 95.17% ALL OPINIONS WELCOME!!!
Algebra has more to do with solving for x with equations. In Geometry you do solve for x but you are finding the missing angles of a triangle and other shapes, or finding side lengths using Sin, Cos, and Tan. I found Geometry to be the easier subject, but you seem to be doing really good in Pre-algebra. Right now I am currently taking two english classes and it is a challenge. Evaluate your schedule next year (social, school, extra cirri) and decide for yourself if you can handle both class loads.
>>Should I take Algebra 1 Honors and Geometry Honors together? I advise against it. A good bit of Geometry involves Algebra.
@Directrix @ginger1427 Thank you for your replies. Do you both agree that Geometry requires a little bit of Algebra 1?
Geometry requires a good bit of Algebra I - from solving linear and quadratic equations to simplifying square roots to working with proportions to coordinate geometry work. I have known students who took Geometry Honors and Algebra Two Honors simultaneously but not Geometry Honors and Algebra One Honors. Algebra One is considered to be a prerequisite for Geometry. My advice is not to do that. The decision is, of course, yours.
